Read moreStart of the season with secret immigrants and neobiota on the plate
The wasp spider and the mute swan cannot be kept out by barriers, the balsam does not need a passport - plants and animals have always spread wherever the climatic environmental conditions allow it. In the new exhibition by Pro Natura Zurich in the Nature Museum of the Zurich Wilderness Park, you can get to know the most important animal and plant immigrants to our country. Let yourself be surprised by creatures that it is hard to imagine our country without, and yet they are not indigenous. In the Pro Natura exhibition, you will learn in a playful way why these so-called "neobiota" can lead to problems, but also offer opportunities.
A flute made from Japanese knotweed
The vernissage of the new exhibition will take place as part of the opening day on March 20. The program includes a short speech and guided tours of the exhibition, "Märli für die Chline" with Jürg Steigmeier, flute carving from Japanese knotweed (a well-known and problematic neophyte) and a small aperitif.
Free admission to all exhibitions
We would like to invite you to visit the special exhibition "Well or evil. There's a herb for everything". Here we take you into colorful rooms and whisk you away into the world of herbs with fine scents. Admission to all exhibitions is free on this day.
