Opening of the visitor center

with a new restaurant and animal cave dwellers

Where wood from the Sihlwald used to be processed, guests of the Zurich Wilderness Park will in future be able to enjoy simple meals and refreshments with a view of the Sihl rushing past. From March 21, the new Sihlwald restaurant will open in the former carpentry building next to the visitor center. The timber-framed building has been carefully renovated and a large terrace has been added. The Zurich Wilderness Park is working with gmt party team ag from Wädenswil to prepare and deliver the food.

Visiting the animal cave dwellers underground

Pro Natura Zurich's new special exhibition in the museum of the Zurich Wilderness Park opens its doors just in time for the opening day on March 23. Follow the tracks of a field mouse underground and find out where the bat sleeps during the day. A variety of caves and their animal inhabitants await you. Even a straw can serve as a shelter. With many interactive and playful elements, the exhibition is suitable for young and old.

Opening day program on Sunday, 23 March 2014

• 1 p.m. "Fairy tales for the little ones" with Jürg Steigmeier
• 1 pm - 4 pm Information stand on the topic of bats
• 2 p.m. Welcome and vernissage of the exhibition, Karin Hindenlang, Managing Director of Zurich Wilderness Park, and Gerhard Fischer, President of Pro Natura Zurich
• 14:30 Aperitif in the new Sihlwald restaurant
• 3 p.m. Guided tour of the exhibition / "Fairy tales for the little ones"
• 4 p.m. Guided tour of the exhibition / "Fairy tales for the little ones"
