Celebrate the opening of the new season with us on the grounds of the visitor center in Sihlwald. The program includes the opening of the new special exhibition on otters, a talk on the playful "water marten", short guided tours of the exhibition, "fairy tale stories" with Jürg Steigmeier, a craft table and an aperitif in the Sihlwald restaurant with musical accompaniment. Admission to the Nature Museum is free on this day.
"Grüezi otter - welcome back"
The otter is back. At least the reports of young animals in the Aare and last year's observations in the Engadin give us hope. But what does the otter need to return? How and where does it live? And why has it disappeared from our rivers and lakes in the first place? Visitors to the Nature Museum can find out all this and more in the new special exhibition. And for younger visitors, there is an exciting trail with interactive tasks to discover.
New Sihlwald maps for every need
The visitor center in Sihlwald is the gateway to the forest wilderness of the national nature discovery park. Staff from the Zurich Wilderness Park are on hand with advice and tips to make your excursion into the natural forest a unique experience. Various maps are also available to anyone interested. Whether on foot, on horseback or on a bicycle, we have the right map for every need. Special maps for riders and bikers can be downloaded from our website, and a hiking map at a scale of 1:12,500 can be obtained from the visitor center for a nominal fee of five francs.
