Wilderness day at Langenberg Zoo for the whole family

A highlight in the Zurich Wilderness Park Foundation's annual program: the "Bison and Butterflies" wilderness day will take place at Langenberg Zoo on 11 June. A varied and playful program allows visitors to experience the native animal world.

Last year, a herd of bison from the Zurich Wilderness Park was allowed to move to Welschenrohr in the canton of Solothurn to try out life in semi-freedom. Dr. Otto Holzgang, head of the "Wisent Thal" project, will be a guest at the Langenberg Animal Park on Wilderness Day and report exclusively on the first experiences. The expert will have plenty of exciting first-hand information to share about Europe's largest land mammal.

The program also includes other attractions relating to native biodiversity. Various stands will present the world of butterflies, bats and bears in a playful way. Short tours of the feeding kitchen and the wild boar enclosure also offer visitors exciting insights into everyday life at the zoo.

The wildlife day takes place on Sunday, June 11, whatever the weather, and has something to offer for the whole family from 1:30 to 4:30 pm.
