We celebrate the oldest zoo in Switzerland

At 150 years old, Zurich Langenberg Wildlife Park is the oldest animal park in Switzerland. To celebrate its milestone birthday, a big party full of attractions for the whole family will be held on Sunday, May 19. The program includes guided tours and information about the wild animals, children's concerts with Linard Bardill, a bird of prey show, climbing wall, face painting and unique animal tattoos. Admission and activities are free.

The 150th anniversary celebration of Switzerland's oldest zoo will take place in the Zurich Langenberg Wilderness Park and the neighboring Schwerzi area. Between 11 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. there are countless attractions for young and old on the program (see below).

"Wild and us" - the history of the Langenberg

One of the major highlights will be the opening of the attractive anniversary exhibition "Wild and us". The past, present and future of the Langenberg come to life in the striking wooden structure between the old bear enclosure and the ibex enclosure. Historical and contemporary pictures illustrate the development of the zoo from its beginnings as a "wildlife garden" to the present day as a modern, scientifically managed zoo. A colorful illustration shows with a wink possible future experiences in the planned Alpine World.

Admission and activities at the anniversary celebration are free of charge. Due to the limited number of paid parking spaces (flat rate of CHF 10), we recommend traveling by train and free shuttle from Adliswil and Langnau-Gattikon train stations.
